Why Addams Family might be annoying:

    It had a bitter rivalry with another horror sitcom, ‘The Munsters.'
    It was usually beaten by ‘The Munsters' in the ratings.
    It was canceled after two seasons.
    It was remade into a wretched Fox Family Channel sitcom in the late nineties.
    Although intended for family viewing, it depicted Gomez Addams as a heavy smoker.

Why Addams Family might not be annoying:

    Its theme song was catchy.
    It was created before ‘The Munsters,' and many cult TV fans prefer it.
    It featured a lot of witty one-liners.
    It satirized America's treatment of minorities and nonconformists.
    Like ‘The Simpsons,' it depicted a strange but loving family.
    One writer said: ‘Gomez and Morticia Addams were the first married couple on American TV implied to have a sex life.'
    It spun off a movie series with Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston and Christina Ricci.
