Why Knots Landing might be annoying
Like its parent show Dallas, it has many inconsistent storylines.
Karen's fist husband, William, was killed after two seasons.
It introduced us to Alec Baldwin.
They kept changing cast members.
It never reached the popularity of 'Dallas,' nor the rival series, Dynasty.
By the time it beat 'Dallas' in the ratings, prime time soap operas were falling in the ratings.
Why Knots Landing might not be annoying
It introduced us to Nicollette Sheridan.
Halle Berry, David James Elliott, Helen Hunt and Marcia Cross were amongst many guests who appeared during the program's run.
It lasted longer than its predecessor.
As of 2009, it is the third longest running primetime drama in American television broadcast history behind 'Gunsmoke' and the original 'Law and Order.'
It inspired other similar series such as 'Beverly Hills 90210,' 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Gossip Girl.'
