The Resume

    (February 27, 1954-April 10, 1954)
    Born in United States
1950's TV science fiction series featuring Space Ranger Rocky Jones battling various villains in our solar system
Regular cast; Richard Crane as Rocky Jones, Scotty Beckett as Winky, Sally Mansfield as Vena Ray, Maurice Cass as Professor Newton, Robert Lyden as Bobby, Charles Meredith as Secretary Drake, and Patsy Parson as frequent guest villainess Cleontra
Presented in the three weekly half hour episodes that usually formed a single story arc

Why Rocky Jones, Space Ranger might be annoying:

The original cast sheets, scripts, and episode schedules are long lost, leaving facts like airdates and supporting cast and the production staff matters impossible to verify completely.
The omnipresent vizeograph was stolen for the Star Trek TOS episode, 'Mirror, Mirror.'
It had a very jingoistic POV that featured a single Earth government under an American style democracy and with most of the planets of the solar system allied in a United Nations type organization (much like Star Trek) and bad guys that wore Soviet style uniforms
It had cast character changes that were hard to follow and had at least one instance where two characters were killed in one episode and reappeared in a later episode unharmed!
It was very expensive to produce, reportedly the most expensive TV series up to that time which may explain it running less than a single year.
It was syndicated and not owned by any one network making it hard or impossible for many parts of the country (especially outside of the big cities) to see it.
The entire cast of the series, regular and guest, were white except for some of the bad guy aliens who (though played by white actors and actresses) were portrayed as vaguely oriental.

Why Rocky Jones, Space Ranger might not be annoying:

It was the first TV series set in outer space and first space opera type TV series with The Adventures of Superman being the first actual Science fiction TV series.
It was filmed on motion picture type film instead of being broadcast live like most TV series of its time allowing for motion picture quality effects that still impress today.
Many episodes are available on high quality DVD.
The writing and acting were of very high quality.
You didn't have to worry about your family watching it.
Although unconfirmed, it is believed that some episodes/three part story arcs were released as movies to movie theaters.
