    Birth name was Frederick Anthony Picariello, Jr.
    Recorded the singles 'Tallahassee Lassie' (1959), 'Way Down Yonder in New Orleans' (1959), 'Palisades Park' (1962), 'Abigail Beecher' (1964) and 'Action' (1965)
    Appeared in the films 'Just For Fun' (1963) and 'Village of the Giants' (1965)

Why he might be annoying:

    He originally performed as Freddy Karmon before the president of his record label changed his last name.
    His first name alternated between 'Freddy' and 'Freddie' on his singles.
    He was nicknamed 'Boom Boom.'
    He tried to turn 'Palisades Park' into a Red Sox rally song ('Down at Fenway Park') until he received a 'nasty' email from Chuck Barris, the song's composer and a Yankee fan.

    He and his wife Jeanette have been married for over 50 years.
    He appeared on American Bandstand a record 110 times.
    His LP 'The Explosive Freddy Cannon' was the first album by a rock singer to top the British charts (1960).
    Musician/critic Cub Koda wrote, 'Freddy Cannon was a true believer, a rocker to the bone. Freddy Cannon made rock & roll records -- great noisy rock & roll records....'
