Why he might be annoying:

    He smokes.
There was controversy whether Jack and Meg were brother and sister or husband and wife, it turned out they are siblings.
He and Ryan Adams are in a feud after Adams changed the lyrics to the White Stripes songs he covered.
He hates signing autographs, CD's and other fan memorabilia with the fear of it being sold.
He did a cover of Dolly Parton's 'Jolene,' although the lyrics say 'Please don't take my man.'
He only wears black, red and white.
    He collects human skulls.
He says that he doesn't find Britney Spears attractive at all (liar!).
He spit in the face of the Von Bondies frontman, Jason Stollsteimer, then proceeded to beat him up (December 15, 2003).

Why he might not be annoying:

He is influenced by punk legends, The Kinks and blues legend, Blind Willie McTell.
Even though he and Meg divorced, they still managed to keep the band together.
He did a duet with Loretta Lynn at a concert in New York (2003).
He opposed the promotions that Virgin Records ran when the tried to make a world record by performing a concert in an airplane, for the fear of selling out.
Ryan Adams was the only one to call names in the feud, not Jack.
He is good friends with Julian Casablancas and toured with his band The Strokes (2002).
'White Blood Cells' and 'Elephant' were on many critics 'Best Lists.'
