The Resume

    (circa 1975- )
    Born in Georgia
    Diagnosed with tuberculosis (January 2007)
Created health scare by traveling for 12 days with XDR tuberculosis (May 12-24, 2007)

Why he might be annoying:

He selfishly traveled throughout Europe, putting fellow air passengers at risk for TB.
Officials from Georgia claimed he was told that it was dangerous to travel with tuberculosis.
Italian officials claimed they were informed of unidentified American with TB while he was in Rome, but did not get full information until he left the country.
While in Rome, American health officials informed him, that he would be put on a no-fly list, he moved up his departure and flew to Prague and then Montreal.
He moved up his departure date from May 14th to May 12th to avoid a possible travel restriction.
Canadian officials were not informed of his health problem, until a day after he left to drive back to the U.S.
    He is an attorney.
Dr. Katkowsky told the NY Times, 'We are talking about a person who both had the intent and the means to escape the jurisdiction.'
Some fellow passengers, at their own expense, are being tested for TB.
He claimed he was not a risk because he tested negatively in a smear test. However 17% of TB cases are infected by carriers who test negatively.
He works in his father's law firm.

Why he might not be annoying:

He claims public health officials in Fulton County, Georgia, gave him the ok to travel.
He apologized on 'Good Morning America' saying 'I don't expect those people to ever forgive me. I just hope they understand that I truly never meant them any harm.'
His treatment will take two years and probably need surgery.
Experts in the field of tuberculosis said that it is highly unlikely he spread his disease to others.
He traveled to Greece for his wedding to Sarah Cooksey.
Ironically, his father-in-law is an expert in tuberculosis.
NY Senator Charles E. Schumer claimed that this case shows the US-Canadian border is vulnerable.
He attended the U.S. Naval academy.
