Premise: The story of coach Hayden Fox trying to balance his family life while coaching the fictional Minnesota State University Screaming Eagles

Why Coach (TV series) might be annoying:

The series was originally intended to mirror the University of Minnesota, but the college withdrew its support.
Hayden often had a nasty temper.
Kelly divorced her husband Stuart after marrying him for nearly one year.
The location of the Minnesota State University is never addressed on screen.
Real-life Mankato State University and Moorhead State University soon changed their names to Minnesota State University, Mankato and Minnesota State University Moorhead respectively, causing confusion among viewers.
Some fans say the show 'jumped the shark' when Hayden left Minnesota State to coach the fictional NFL team Orlando Breakers.
In a disastrous attempt to revive declining ratings from the previous season, ABC moved the series to Monday nights before Monday Night Football during season seven.
However, since west coast stations aired 'MNF' games before scripted shows, this forced those stations to relegate the show to unusual time slots such as late night or weekend afternoons.
The exterior shots were not that of any Minnesota college, but rather from the University of Iowa.
The Breakers lost in the NFL Wild Card playoff game to the <10186>Buffalo Bills<10186>.

Why Coach (TV series) might not be annoying:

The school colors in the series were violet and gold just like the Minnesota Vikings.
The Minnesota State Screaming Eagles were intended to be a parody of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers whose football team was lousy in the present time with a successful past.
The show had a memorable and catchy theme song.
Craig T. Nelson won an Emmy for Lead Actor in a Comedy (1992).
Numerous athletes and actors made guest appearances on the show.
The Orlando Breakers were a parody of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It also made fun of the ordeal of the Raiders moving back to Oakland from Los Angeles.
The series finale included an epilogue showing Dauber had stayed with the Breakers and became their head coach, winning back-to-back Super Bowl championships and going on to join the Monday Night Football announcer team after retiring.
