Why she might be annoying:

    She tried to draw a distinction between right-wing ‘authoritarian' dictatorships and left-wing ‘totalitarian' dictatorships.
    Shortly after taking office, she accused Costa Rica, the most stable democracy in Central America, of Communist subversion.
    She so strongly supported the military junta in Argentina that she attended dinner at the Argentine embassy after their invasion of the Falklands.
    She called the Universal Declaration of Human Rights ‘a letter to Santa Claus.'
    She was considered a founder of the neo-conservative movement.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She wrote to Congress warning that a plan to withhold US dues from the United Nations to force reform was misguided and would ‘actually strengthen the opponents of reform' (2005).
    She was the first woman named as the American ambassador to the UN.
    She was a staunch anti-Communist.
    She was married to Evron Kirkpatrick for 43 years until his death.
    She was a lifelong feminist who encouraged other women to seek political office.
