He is a skinny, sad-looking guy.
In 'The Conversation' and 'The Deer Hunter' his character was named Stan.
Despite appearing in all 'The Godfather' Al Pacino, stole all the scenes they were in together.
Twelve years after his death, using archival footage, he was in 'The Godfather: Part III.'

He was in five major blockbusters in the 70's.
He died of bone cancer at forty-two (March 12, 1978).
He knew he was dying but continued to film 'The Deer Hunter.'
