Even then, he disapproved of gay actors being open about their sexuality.
He called Sylvester Stallone 'rude and arrogant.'
He kept several small yappy dogs as pets.

Why he might not be annoying:

He lived a quiet, unpretentious life.
His performances as George III were internationally acclaimed.
He didn't understand why anybody should care about his sexuality.
'The Advocate' outed him, even after he specifically asked them not to.
He didn't think celebrities should be overly vocal about their politics.
Becoming a knight made him sad, because his parents weren't alive to see it.
He suffered from pancreatic cancer the last few years of his life.
