Tennis Player

The Resume

    (October 2, 1984- )
    Born in Le Puy-en-Velay, France
    Won Wimbledon (2013)
Previously won seven WTA singles titles and three doubles titles

Why she might be annoying:

Her father developed an unusual training regiment for her, including attaching herself to fences with rubber bands and placing tennis balls under the heels of her shoes to remain on tiptoe.
She lost a chance to represent France at the 2012 Olympics because she would not play unless she could bring her father along for private coaching.
Because she uses a two handed stroke for both forehand and backhand, she has to have her racquets lengthened by two inches.
She is very fidgetty, with Bleacher Report noting, 'It can even be exhausting to watch her on the changeovers, as her legs shake violently as she gulps down water.'
Thanks to an upset filled tournament, she won Wimbledon without having to face any player ranked higher than her #15 seed.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She is ambidextrous.
She had an IQ of 175 when tested at age nine.
She said about her reputation for eccentricity, 'It's always been a part of my personality to be different. I think being just like the other one is kind of boring.'
She became the sixth player of the open era to win Wimbledon without losing a set.
After BBC commentator John Inverdale said she was 'never going to be a looker,' she replied, 'It doesn't matter honestly.... Have I dreamed about having a model contract? No, I'm sorry. But have I dreamed about winning Wimbledon? Absolutely yes.'
