Why he might be annoying:

    He is a pretty boy.
    Although he is a Polish native, he has stated that he does not have a Polish passport.
    He fathered a child out of wedlock with longtime girlfriend Monika Puchalski.
    During the Euro 2012, he teamed up with Cologne band Brings to provide backing vocals on a Europop track called 'Halleluja.'

Why he might not be annoying:

    When he was two years old, his family emigrated from Poland to West Germany and were given Aussiedler status as a result of his paternal grandparents having German citizenship prior to World War II.
    He is left-footed.
    While playing against other German soccer teams, he sometimes spoke in Polish to other teammates that were fluent in that language so he could give plays without the opponent deciphering it.
    During the 2006 World Cup, he was named the World Cup's Best Young Player ahead of players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
