Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He was one of 14 children in his family.
His small stature served as a deterrent for teams not wanting to take him.
He initially retired as a result of stress and depression, only to make a comeback weeks later (1968).
His health issues prevented him from becoming a top tier goaltender.
He spent the bulk of his career on mediocre teams.

Why he might not be annoying:

He played at a high level, despite the fact he suffered from both ulcers and pancreatitis.
His play for the Red Wings during the 1965-66 season led the team to consider Terry Sawchuk expendable.
He is the first recipient of the Conn Smythe Trophy to be a member of the losing team.
He was the last goaltender in NHL history to start every single game for his team.
He was posthumously honored by the NHL when they awarded the Roger Crozier Saving Grace Award to the goalie who recorded the highest save percentage in the regular season (the award was discontinued after the 2006-07 season).
