Why he might be annoying:

He was known for wearing a plain white mask throughout his career.
Despite posting decent numbers in the regular season, his playoff numbers weren't that great.
Despite being a durable goaltender, he was forced to retire as a result of his back giving out on him prematurely.
He wore the Jason Voorhees style mask during his stint with St. Louis.
Some hockey pundits felt he overworked himself in the earlier stages of his career.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is a second cousin of Hall of Fame inductee and former Whalers teammate Ron Francis.
He decided to play the goaltending position while attending Bowling Green State University.
He earned CCHA First All-Star Team honors twice during his stint at Bowling Green.
He recorded 71 victories during his first couple NHL seasons.
He finished second to Wayne Gretzky in voting for the Hart Trophy (1981).
