Why they might be annoying:

The original lineup split up before ever releasing a studio album.
They went on hiatus following the release of 'Creature.'
The band's members felt they were overshadowed by David's solo career which was starting around the same time.
Many music pundits felt their final album 'Mercedes Five and Dime' was too dark and melancholic, which was in contrast to their first two albums.
They failed to garner the attention of audiences outside Canada.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their first album 'Silver' was an independent release, prior to being picked up by EMI Music.
Their debut album sold over 400,000 copies in Canada alone.
They reunited after a two year hiatus to record 'Mercedes Five and Dime', prior to disbanding permanently.
The majority of the band's members were originally college students who began performing together before becoming a group.
They had a huge following in Canada during the peak of their success.
