Why he might be annoying:

Many hockey pundits consider his draft rating to be a fluke.
He made himself eligible for the NHL Entry Draft after his freshman season.
He played on seven different teams, including four in six years.
He sat out the majority of the 1993-94 season as a result of a contract dispute with Oilers management.
He was considered injury prone.
After practising with the New York Rangers, he relented and signed a one year contract with the Boston Bruins.
His decision prompted Rangers GM Neil Smith to throw his equipment into the Hudson River.
He was suspended by the Bruins for conduct detrimental to the team (2000).

Why he might not be annoying:

He recorded 61 points in 35 games during his freshman year at Michigan State.
He is the first player to win an NCAA Frozen Four Title, Calder Cup and Stanley Cup during a career.
He was a clutch performer in the playoffs.
He was part of the Oilers famed 'Kid Line' which featured him alongside Martin Gelinas and Adam Graves.
He recorded a career-high 82 points during the 1992-93 season.
