Baseball Player

The Resume

    (March 8, 1976-December 22, 2012)
    Born in Jacksonville, Florida
    Died in Jacksonville, Florida
Utility player for the Toronto Blue Jays (2001), Cincinnati Reds (2003-08) and the Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals (2009)

Why he might be annoying:

He played on three different teams during the 2009 season.
His productivity nosedived considerably after he left the Reds.
He was mentally screwed up, as he admitted he would talk to an imaginary voice in his head named Farney.
His aggressive style of play frequently led him to being on the disabled list.
He was arrested twice for driving under the influence.
In the last year of his life, he became melancholic and withdrawn, which was a dramatic shift from his upbeat personality.
His final words to his mother were 'You forgot one', after she informed him she had all his firearms removed from his home. The latter was the one he used to shoot himself in the head, which claimed his life.

Why he might not be annoying:

He played all three outfield and both left corner infield positions.
His gritty style of play was popular with Reds fans.
He was seen as being generous toward fans, and was often seen signing cards and mementos as he felt that they deserved respect from the players.
He helped form the Reds Rookie Success League, which helped many of the team's prospects learn the ropes of being in the majors.
Shortly after his passing, the Reds created the Ryan Freel Heart and Hustle Award in his honor.
