13-time All-Star (1958-64,1970-72; note to anyone noticing that this is only 10 years: from 1959 to 1962, MLB had two All-Star games and Aparicio was named to both teams three times)
9-time Golden Glove winner (1958-62,1964,1966,1968,1970)
Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame (1984)

Why he might be annoying:

In a stunt whipped up by Bill Veeck, a group of midgets in spacesuits headed by Eddie Gaedel named him and Nellie Fox 'honorary Martians' for their dimunitive heights (5'7 for Aparicio, 5'9 for Fox).
He quipped about his lack of power, 'Even in my dreams, I can't hit home runs.'
He tied the record for longest hitless streak by a non-pitcher, going 0 for 44 (1971).
The White Sox un-retired his #11 (with his permission) for Omar Vizquel, who had surpassed his record for most games by a shortstop.

Why he might not be annoying:

After Nellie Fox and he finished first and second in the balloting for 1959 AL MVP, Fox declared, 'What is the top requirement for a second baseman? A fine shortstop. I am fortunate in having the greatest shortstop in baseball.'
He led the AL in stolen bases nine consecutive seasons (1956-64).
At his retirement, he was the all-time leader for assists and double plays by a shortstop.
He was the first player from South America inducted into the Hall of Fame.
