The Resume

    (May 22, 1943-March 17, 2020)
Born in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
Cofounded the Community of Peace Peoples to promote peace in Northern Ireland
Won the Nobel Peace Prize with Mairead Corrigan (1976)

Why she might be annoying:

She and Corrigan had a public falling out over the division of the Nobel Prize award money.
Ten years later, the two refused to speak to each other during the filming of a documentary about the movement they founded.
She said, 'I have a very hard time with this word, non-violence, because I don't believe that I am non-violent' (July 24, 2006).
She then added, 'Right now, I would love to kill George [W.] Bush.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She and Corrigan organized a protest march of 10,000 women and children that was disrupted by members of the IRA who accused them of being 'dupes of the British.'
The next week, they led another march, this time 35,000 strong.
She and Corrigan reconciled as members of the Nobel Women's Initiative (2006).
She apologized for her remarks about Bush.
