The Resume

    (October 16, 2012- )
    Airs on TLC
    Produced by Stephen David
Profiles people who go through extreme measures to save money

Why Extreme Cheapskates might be annoying:

It's not a show to watch while eating as one man recycles his toilet paper, one woman doesn't use toilet paper (she washes herself soaps up and rinses off) and another lady pees in a bottle (to save money on water used to flush).
Kate, the 'I don't use toilet paper' lady, furnished her living quarters with furniture pulled from the trash and sleeps on a pile of used yoga mats.
One man named Roy took his wife on a movie date (her idea); when she requested popcorn, he went to the lobby and took some uneaten popcorn from the trash bin.
He also took an emptied soda cup from the garbage, rinsed it out and had the concession 'refill' it for free.
He pulled a bunch of roses from the garbage to gift his wife.
One man, Terence, took his family out for buffet dinner (his idea of fine dining) and piled food high on three plates to feed a group of seven so that he'd pay only for three plates.
Many dumpster dive trash bins to find dinner even though they can afford to buy food.

Why Extreme Cheapskates might not be annoying:

Kate (a New York-based certified accountant) was able to pay off her $200,000 apartment in nine months.
Victoria, the pee-bottle woman, was able to retire from her accounting profession at 50.
Others boast large balances on their savings account.
The misers always explain their odd behaviors.
Every episode has a family member or friend who is skeeved out by someone's overly frugal ways.
As Roy did not tell his missus where the popcorn came from, she likely found out as the episode aired.
The penny pinchers provide practical tips for saving money every day, such as unplugging appliances when they are not being used as they use energy even when they are shut off.
Roy, the garbage-popcorn guy, operates an animal rescue and uses his money towards food and veterinary care for the animals.
