Why they might be annoying
They may not have existed.
Since 'lupa' meant both she-wolf and prostitute, the whole 'suckled by a wolf' story may have been a way of telling the twins, 'Your mother was a whore.'
Romulus killed Remus in an argument over which twin the city they founded would be named after.
Romulus ordered the abduction of the Sabine women to populate Rome.
As his reign went on, Romulus increasingly ignored the Roman Senate, much to the Senators' displeasure.
Why they might not be annoying
Romulus founded the Roman Legions and the Roman Senate.
Romulus greatly expanded Rome's territory and never lost a war.
Romulus allegedly ascended into the heavens to become the god Quirinus.
More skeptical historians suggested that Romulus had been killed by some of the Senators he had ticked off, who spread the Quirinus story to stop people from looking for a body.
Romulus and Remus were also the Romulan home worlds in Star Trek.
