Why he might be annoying:

    His record was 18-54-11 in his first three NHL seasons.
    He had a four year hiatus in the minor leagues between NHL stints.
    He was suspended by the Bruins after he refused a minor league assignment, which prompted his trade to the Maple Leafs.
    He served as the third string goaltender in Toronto behind both Johnny Bower and Terry Sawchuk during his first few seasons with the team.
    He was sent to the minors, which cost him a chance at being a part of the Leafs 1967 Stanley Cup winning team.
    He was the subject of two urban legends in regards to his heart attacks, with one stating he was taken to hospital during a game, while another cites he died an alumni game (both legends were debunked however).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was the last goalie in the history of the Maple Leafs to play without a mask.
    He established himself as a capable goaltender, after the team lost Terry Sawchuk to the Los Angeles Kings in the 1967 expansion draft.
    He led the NHL in save percentage during his first season as a full-time player (1967-68).
    He was forced to retire from active play, after he sustained a near-fatal heart attack.
    He earned the Most Valuable Player Award at the 1968 NHL All-Star Game.
