    He was the second defenseman drafted first overall by the Sabres in a three year span.
    He was a natural athlete, as he played box lacrosse and volleyball, before switching to hockey full-time.
    Although he missed out on playing for Team Canada at the World Juniors, he was invited to play for the senior team at the World Championships (2021).
    He was one of three players from the University of Michigan to be selected with the top five picks in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
