He spent his entire NHL career alternating between the franchises in the state of New York and the province of Ontario.
He played on four minor league teams during his playing career.
Despite posting decent numbers in the minors, he failed to live up to his potential in the NHL.
He was considered one of the NHL's most agitating players during his heyday.
He frequently shifted between defense and forward during the earlier stages of his career.

He was converted to a forward after his coaches felt he was better suited to play on the bottom six forward lines.
His hard hitting style of play made him a fan favorite in Toronto.
He fulfilled a childhood dream by playing for the Maple Leafs.
Following his retirement from hockey, he operated a water supply store in his hometown.
