Why Third Watch might be annoying
Although it takes place in upper Manhattan, it was filmed almost exclusively in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn.
Many NYPD and FDNY personnel were unhappy at how they were portrayed on the show.
In it's first episode, it had Paramedics taking the unused prescriptions of dead people, and giving them to the poor.
It highlighted only the Paramedics and neglected to include the EMT's of the FDNY's ambulance personnel.
It's last two seasons focused mainly on the police aspect of the show, abandoning the series' original premise of following all of NYC's emergency services.
Why Third Watch might not be annoying
It won the George Foster Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting, for a 2002 episode where actual NYPD and FDNY personnel told their stories of the World Trade Center Attack.
The cast were humbled when meeting actual members of the NYPD and FDNY.
It had a successful crossover with 'E.R.,' despite, 'E.R.' being set in Chicago.
