Artist

The Resume

    Plein Air Painter
    Resides in New York City
Worked as a courtroom artist for television stations and newspapers covering major trials
Came under fire during a New York federal court hearing over New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension (Aug. 12, 2015)
Artistic depiction of Brady subsequently went viral after being deemed unflattering and 'ugly,' leading to widespread criticism from Patriots fans
Work is on permanent display at the Museum of the Constitution in Philadelphia and the Museum of Television and Radio in New York City

Why she might be annoying:

Her portraiture skills are evidently poor.
She claimed to not have known who Tom Brady was at the time she did the sketch.
Her depiction of Brady was compared to Disney's Quasimodo, The Addams Family's Lurch, and Sloth from the Goonies.
She defended herself by saying 'I don't tend to flatter people and make them look beautiful.'
The 'face' has been photo-shopped onto Edvard Munch's 'The Scream,' Henry Fuseli's 'Nightmare,' and even the Brady Bunch squares.
Strange as it may seem, closer examination of the sketch reveals virtually every face in the court room sharing the same agonized expression (almost identical).
Her sketches were featured in coverage of legal proceedings for mobster John Gotti, Bill Cosby, Woody Allen, and the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing, but her work will be forever associated with the fiasco that was #Deflategate.

Why she might not be annoying:

She is represented in the Simie Maryles Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
She apparently succeeded in making Al Sharpton look attractive in her court sketch rendering of him.
Her plein air paintings are actually very good -- reminiscent of Monet and Cezanne.
She shot down rumors that she had asked Brady to autograph her rendering of him.
She was on the receiving end of cyberbullying and even death threats from angry fans.
She was tasked with sketching a wide shot of the entire courtroom in a short amount of time (Brady was only in the background).
She actually apologized to Brady and fans, saying 'He's a very good looking gentleman. I apologize. If I had more time, I would have made him more handsome.'
She received over two dozen emails offering to buy her infamous drawing for large amounts of money.
She received requests to make replicas of the sketch and was even contacted by a Boston museum about loaning it for a one month display.
