Why he might be annoying:

He reportedly wept whenever he painted the Crucifixion.
Because he felt his paintings were divinely inspired, he refused to retouch them.
The frescos in the Niccoline Chapel may have actually been executed by his assistants based on his designs.
The frescos he painted for the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament at St. Peter's Basilica were lost when Pope Paul III had the chapel demolished.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was described as 'always good humored.'
Raphael incorporated him into 'Disputation of the Holy Sacrament' as a symbol of devoutness.
His frescos have 'a pale, serene unearthly beauty.'
John Ruskin said his frescos were 'visions' rather than mere paintings.
