Why he might be annoying:

He has been arrested thirteen times on charges such as criminal mischief and destruction of public property.
He appropriates copyrighted images in his art.
He wrote a manifesto linking his work to Heidegger's concept of phenomenology.
He calls himself a 'street artist' but he gets commissions from Saks Fifth Avenue and does ad campaigns for Pepsi.

Why he might not be annoying:

His 'Obey Giant' stickers were inspired by John Carpenter's cult film 'They Live.'
An episode of Family Guy featured Peter Griffin painting the 'Obey Giant' icon on the Sistine Chapel.
He created the portrait of Obama for Time's 'Man of the Year' story and his 'Hope' image was acquired by the National Portrait Gallery.
He said of the 'Hope' poster, 'Street art is made in anger.... The Obama image is the opposite and it's refreshing to create something out of inspiration.'
