Why he might be annoying:

He smoked 80 cigarettes a day.
He would wear the same outfit day after day.
A biographer noted that he and playwright Samuel Beckett would 'bump into each other in Montparnasse around midnight [and] go to the same brothels together.'
He kept his wife on a short allowance while showering money on a prostitute he became enamored of (and used as a model for the last six years of his life).
He was often paralyzed by self-doubt, such as spending an entire winter reworking a sketch or having the subject of a sculpture sit for him 400 times.

Why he might not be annoying:

He began painting and sculpting in his teens.
He was influenced by art from Africa and Oceania.
He walked with a permanent limp after being struck by a drunk driver (1938).
