Why he might be annoying:

He was so afraid of water that he left the Baptist church to avoid being baptized.
Despite his popularity, he ran for president three times and lost.
He supported a ban on alcohol production and sales.
He was committed to maintaining neutrality in World War I and resigned as Secretary of State when Woodrow Wilson decided to enter the war.
He was an outspoken critic of evolution and even supported a constitutional amendment to ban the teaching of evolution in the schools.
Clarence Darrow made him sound like an idiot in the Scopes Monkey Trial. H.L. Mencken then referred to him as a buffoon and called his arguments theoretical bilge.

Why he might not be annoying:

He won his first presidential nomination at age 36.
He was a gifted speaker, uniting Democrats and Populists with his 'Cross of Gold' speech.
He is credited with transforming the Democratic Party from the party of Confederates to the party of the working class and minorities.
The country adopted many of his reforms, such as women's voting rights, the direct election of senators, creation of the Department of Labor, and a progressive tax system.
Despite being a pacifist, he attempted to join the army during World War I.
He fought for the rights of the American worker, earning the nickname 'The Great Commoner.'
The cowardly lion in 'The Wizard of Oz' is believed to be based on him.
