Why she might be annoying:

She claimed to have received the stigmata, but nobody could see it except her.
She once 'treated' a cancer patient by sucking the pus from one of his sores. (YUCK!)
She was described as an 'ascetic,' eating almost nothing and spitting out whatever was in her mouth (can you say eating disorder?).
She did not learn to read until she was twenty.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was the youngest of 25 children.
She had her first religious vision when she was six or seven.
She encouraged the papacy to return to Rome (it had been in Avignon, France for several years).
She advised popes and kings alike.
She tried to heal the Papal Schism, in which there were separate papacies in Rome and Avignon.
Her writings are considered to be among the finest examples of Catholic theology.
She died at thirty-three.
She was canonized in 1461.
