Whacked by hit men hired by John Gotti at age 70

Why he might be annoying:

Gambino named him as successor because he was married to the Mafioso's sister.
He rarely mixed with 'lowly' Mafia foot soldiers, causing riffs within the ranks.
It was rumored he was impotent, yet carried on an affair with a young maid.
He did not attend the funeral of his Mafia under boss, pissing off many wise guys.
He promoted his inexperienced bodyguard as new under boss, enraging Gotti.
He was a bloated piece of shit who died in a hail of bullets on his way to stuffing his face at Sparks steak house.

Why he might not be annoying:

His first pinch came in 1934 for armed robbery, and he wouldn't give up his accomplices to the cops.
He didn't believe the Mafia should deal in narcotics.
His bodyguard did a lousy job protecting him, and died along with him.
After the hit, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York wouldn't grant him the last rites of the church, though previous criminals were given as such.
