Born in Travis County, Texas
Cowboy and rodeo performer
Known for his 'bulldogging' -- grabbing a cow by the horns and wrestling it to the ground
Joined the 101 Wild West Show (1905)
Appeared in the films 'The Bull Dogger' and 'The Crimson Skull' (both 1921)
Inducted into the National Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame (1971)

Why he might be annoying:

He dropped out of school after the fifth grade to become a rancher.
His preferred bulldogging technique involved biting the cow on the lip.
Ironically (considering that he was the son of former slaves), his first professional rodeo performance was made for a reunion of Confederate veterans.
After retiring from the rodeo, he was killed by being kicked in the head by a horse.
When the US Postal Service included him in the 'Legends of the West' stamp sheet, they accidentally used a picture of his brother Ben on the first run of stamps.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was billed as 'the most daring cowboy alive.'
He was the first black cowboy movie star.
He performed before King George V during a tour of England.
Because of racism, he often had to billed as a Mexican or Comanche Indian to be allowed to perform.
While performing together in the 101 Wild West Show, he became friends with Will Rogers, who announced Pickett's death during his radio program.
