Why he might be annoying
He was a member of a Dutch noble family and held the title of jonkheer, more or less equivalent to the English baronet.
He weighed over 350 pounds at his peak.
When he joined the MIT wrestling team, none of the jerseys fit him, so one had to be hand sewn for him.
His voice coaches felt he never reached his potential in opera because wrestling distracted him, while his wrestling coaches felt he never reached his potential on the mat because singing distracted him.
Despite his career as an opera singer, his voice was not used when his character sings ‘Down in the Valley’ in ‘Stir Crazy.’
Why he might not be annoying
He earned degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT.
He was an alternate on the 1976 US Olympic wrestling team.
He often sang the national anthem at the wrestling meets he participated in.
His IQ tested at a genius-level 160.
