His actual name is Clifton Phifer Lee.
He was drafted three times before agreeing to terms with Montreal.
He intentionally beaned Sammy Sosa in the head, which sparked an uproar among his teammates.
He speaks with a real thick Southern accent.
He was virtually unheard of outside of Cleveland prior to the 2008 season.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was one of the prospects acquired by the Indians in the Bartolo Colon trade.
He won an average of 10+ games in the Majors upon his MLB debut.
He established himself as a top 3 starter in his first full Major League season.
Despite the Indians mediocre season, he posted a career high 22 victories (2008).
He and CC Sabathia are the first Indian teammates to win the AL Cy Young Award in consecutive seasons.
