The Resume

    (April 23, 1804-April 24, 1884)
    Born in Stockholm , Sweden
    Prima ballerina

Why she might be annoying:

Her marriage to a nobleman ended after just three years.
A gaggle of obsessed fans bought a pair of her pointe shoes, cooking and eating them with special sauce and garnishes.
During her sole choreographic work, 1860's 'Le Papillon,' her protégé Emma Livry's skirt caught on fire from stage lamps, and she later died from her injuries.

Why she might not be annoying:

At six, her first ballet instructor branded her an 'ugly duckling,' complaining, 'Will that little hunchback ever learn to dance?'
When she shortened her skirt to display her excellent pointe work, she created the modern look of the ballerina's tutu.
She instigated the Romantic Ballet movement of the early 1800s.
The 'ugly duckling' became so acclaimed that dolls, cakes and sweets were named in her honor throughout Europe.
Her father and teacher, famed choreographer Filippo Taglioni, created 1822's 'La Sylphide' to display his daughter's peerless skills en pointe.
