Why he might be annoying:

    He is nicknamed 'El Niño.'
    He is notorious for using hot dog moves.
    He struggled with consistency issues during his tenure with the Islanders.
    Despite playing on the Islander roster part time for two seasons, he wasn't invited to the team's training camp following the conclusion of the lockout.
    He allegedly used an ethnic slur against Nazem Kadri in the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championship tournament, which prompted the latter to refuse to shake his hand at the end of the game.

    He is the highest drafted Swiss born player in NHL history.
    He opted to develop his game in North American in order to elevate his chances at making an NHL roster.
    He was the youngest player in the Islander franchise history to score a goal in his debut game (October, 2010).
    He recorded six points in four games at the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championship, which elevated his draft stock and earned him a top 5 selection.
    He established himself as a regular in the NHL after he was traded to Minnesota.
