    After watching a demonstration of an early video cassette machine, he wrote for the journal 'Cinema' a far-sighted look at the changes the home video market would create.
    The films he produced made over $3 billion and earned over 50 Oscar nominations.
    He was named 'Producer of the Year' by the National Association of Theater Owners (1978).
    He served as a juror during the Winona Ryder shoplifting trial (2002).
