    Died in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Why she might be annoying:

    She was a nativist who campaigned for anti-immigration laws and thought that immigration was downgrading Canada's morality.
    She backed her campaign against drugs by using non-Northern European Canadians as examples of drug users.
    She supported the sterilization of the mentally ill.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She was the first female magistrate in the British Empire (1916).
    Thanks to her family's involvement in politics, she became one of the most influential suffragists in Canada as well.
    She became the first woman hired to the Edmonton Hospital Board (1910).
    Her house in Edmonton is on the 'Canadian Register of Historic People and Places'.
    Thanks to her political activities, the Alberta legislature passed the Dower Act, which allows a wife to inherit one-third of her husband's property (1911).
    She died of diabetes while sleeping.
    She campaigned for women's rights and drug restriction.
    As one of the Famous Five, she persuaded the Supreme Court of Canada that women were included as 'persons' (1930).
