Why he might be annoying:

    He was twice divorced.
    It is said in his biography that his first name was originally Frederick but it was crossed out and replaced it as William following a few days after his birth.
    He used to own an American Soccer League team, the Tacoma Tides, which lasted only one year (1976).
    As he ran for governor of Washington, his counterintuitive slogan said 'Booth Who?'
    He once said that he was 'out of gas' as he chose not to take a third term as the state's governor.

Why he might not be annoying:

    His parents were divorced at the time when he was a very young boy.
    He allowed poor people to have state medical insurance with a health care program.
    He also allowed gay people to have better legal protection.
    He made improvements on the state's educational based standards and protection of its environment.
    He led a campaign that led to Washington becoming the second state to legalize assisted suicide (2008).
    'The Last Campaign of Governor Booth Gardner' was an Oscar nominated documentary film about his assisted suicide legalization campaign.
