The Resume

    (September 7, 2008-January 19, 2012)
    Born in United States
    FOX
Hosted by Brooke Burns and Mark Thompson
Inspired by the ‘Brain Wall’ segment on Fuji-TV’s ‘Tonneruzu no Minasan no Okage deshita (Tunnels’ Thanks to Everyone)’ (2006)
Contestants must position themselves to fit through the gaps on a rapidly-approaching wall without getting stuck or tumbling into the pool of water behind them

Why Hole in the Wall might be annoying:

Unlike other foreign versions, it does not use celebrities.
Ever the politically correct executives, the network honchos wanted the show to be ‘family friendly.’ (And those weren’t the only deviations from the original, either!)
YouTube viewers refer to it as ‘Human Tetris’ though it has little resemblance to the arcade game.
FOX entertainment president Mike Darnell predicted an instant success. Unfortunately it moved to early Thursday…
The less said about Thompson’s involvement, the better.

Why Hole in the Wall might not be annoying:

Its begetter was an instant hit and the inspiration for the versions in some 15 nations.
Desiring to be its host, Ellen DeGeneres introduced this version on her own talk show.
Barely into its run, it was yanked in favor of ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ (though it was expected to return).
Fred Berry’s daughter was a contestant (‘oh, crap!’).
At least it had the requisite <5036>eye candy
