TV Series
    (April 24, 1978-January 11, 2002)
    Born in United States
Aired on NBC (1978-1981), CBS, and Syndication (1986-1987, 2001-2002)
NBC version hosted by Jim Perry
CBS version hosted by Bob Eubanks
Syndicated version hosted by Bill Rafferty (1986-1987) and Pat Bullard (2001-2002)
Premise: Contestants facing a sequence of playing cards must guess if their next card has a higher or lower number than their current one
Produced by Mark Goodson and Bill Todman
    The game was repetitive.
If a contestant guessed that their next card was higher or lower and the value of the card turned out to be the same, the contestant was penalized (this was later changed).
The playing cards they used were HUGE!
Bob Eubanks cried on the last episode of the CBS version.
Announcer Gene Wood always read out a lame poem submitted by a home viewer before the start of the show (ex. You can't win trips/You can't win furs/But lots of cash/Can all be yurs/on Card Sharks!).
The 2000's version bombed after half a season.
It was a simple and fun game to play along with at home.
TV Guide ranked it as the 37th greatest game show of all-time.
They had a series of special episodes after 9/11 featuring firefighters and policemen playing for charity.
They never tried to give away cheesy prizes or vacations to the contestants, focusing mainly on cash and cars.
Kelly Packard was a contestant on the show before becoming famous.
