    Drafted seventh overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft
    Defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens (2002-09), Toronto Maple Leafs (2009-13) and the Carolina Hurricanes (2013-14)

Why he might be annoying:

    He opted out of college after two years to turn pro.
    He bears a striking resemblance to former Leafs defenseman Bryan Berard.
    He angered many Canadiens fans by signing with the rival Maple Leafs.
    Despite being named to the 2010 U.S. Olympic team, he was forced to miss the games as a result of a shoulder injury.
    During a Leafs road trip in Southern California, he allegedly assaulted a woman in a Hollywood nightclub by punching her in the face (January, 2011).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is a first-generation American of Polish descent, as his parents emigrated to the United States in the 1970's in search of better opportunities.
    His bruising style of play made him a fan favorite in both Montreal and Toronto.
    He lost his mother to pancreatic cancer (2008).
    He was a key part of the Michigan Wolverines CCHA championship team, which made two NCAA Frozen Four appearances in the early 2000's.
