Rather then retire as a Bruin, he spent his final NHL season in Dallas.
He angered many Bruin fans by trading Dougie Hamilton to Calgary, in his first move as the team's GM.
Despite his accolades during his career, he never played in the NHL All-Star Game.
He earned first All-Star team honors, while playing at Harvard.
He ranks among the top ten players in many of the Bruins statistical categories.
He is married to former Canadian Olympic figure skater Christine Hough.
He served as an alternate captain for the majority of his tenure with the Bruins.
He worked as an assistant Dean of Admissions at Phillips Academy and worked as a broadcaster in the first couple seasons following his retirement from active play.
