The Resume

    (March 3, 1902-March 5, 1994)
    Born in Chicago, Illinois
Birth name was Eunice Marjorie Joerndt
Housekeeper for Marilyn Monroe - hired by her psychiatrist, Dr. Ralph Greenson, to tend to her needs (Nov. 1961-Aug. 1962)
Discovered Monroe unresponsive and called Greenson, who confirmed her death (Aug. 5, 1962)
Accused by conspiracy theorists of covering up possible foul play about Monroe's death
Died at her daughter's home in Tucson, Arizona at age 92

Why she might be annoying:

Her strict Swedenborgian upbringing caused her mental distress, and at times she thought she was her older sister.
She lived apart from her first husband for years before they got divorced in 1950.
She sold her house to Greenson in 1947 because she couldn't afford it.
Greenson felt sorry for her and hired her to work for him, though as a high school drop-out, she had no discernible skills.
She worked for Monroe at Greenson's insistence, who asked her to spy on Monroe for him and report any peculiar behavior.
Monroe was set to fire her and gave her a severance check, but died before she did so.
Her time frame of the events surrounding Monroe's death fluctuated greatly, and LAPD Sergeant Jack Clemmons, who investigated the scene, always believed she knew more than she told.
Shortly after her sister died in 1972, she married her sister's husband (her brother-in-law).
Durning a 1973 interview with a news crew, she was heard on tape (believing the interview was over) stating, 'Why, at my age, do I still have to cover this thing?'.

Why she might not be annoying:

When her sister came down with Spanish flu, she stood by her when she sought medical treatment, causing both siblings to incur their parent's wrath over religious convictions.
In an eerie prelude, she named her first born daughter Marilyn.
After her first hubby all but abandoned her, Greenson saved her from destitution, and she felt indebted to him.
She was the one who picked out the Brentwood bungalow where Monroe spent the last months of her life.
She and Monroe shared stories of rough childhood upbringings, something they had in common.
She was never able to cash the $200 severance check Monroe made out to her (it was declined and marked 'deceased'), and the check is now displayed at the Hollywood Heritage Museum.
After Monroe's death, she lived quietly in a rented cottage owned by relatives of deceased actor Richard Cromwell until she remarried.
During this time she involved herself in many varying interests, including horticulture, sewing, macramé and astrology.
Her remaining years were spent in obscurity, which is what she wanted most.
