    Catcher for the Chicago Cubs (1913-1915), Cincinnati Reds (1921-1928) and the New York Yankees (1930)
    NL Batting Champion (1926)
    Inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame (2005)

    He was the NL leader for times hit by a pitch with 12 (1923).
    He went into the minors after leaving each major league team.

    He recorded 105 pinch-hits and .353 batting average which made him the first NL catcher to win a batting title.
    He was considered as one of the Red's all-time finest catchers as he made good defensive performances and recorded a batting average over .300 for six straight seasons.
    He was used as a backup catcher to future Hall of Fame catcher Bill Dickey in his last major league season.
    He went into the valve business after he retired from baseball.
