York' (1941), 'Overland Mail' (1942), 'Gung Ho!' (1943), 'Under Western Skies' (1945), 'Red River' (1948), 'Davy Crockett, Indian Scout' (1950), 'The Story of Will Rogers' (1952), 'Inherit the Wind' (1960), 'The 7 Faces of Dr. Lao' (1964), 'Little Fauss and Big Halsey' (1970), 'Walking Tall' (1973) and 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas' (1982)

    He was twice nominated for an Emmy as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama for 'The Rockford Files.'
