The Resume

    (April 12, 1880-March 31, 1932)
    Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Chair of the Giraud Iron Company

Why he might be annoying:

    He was a womanizer.
Following an arm injury, he turned to Radithor, a quack medicine consisting of radioactive water.
He drank three bottles of Radithor a day.
By the time he stopped taking it, he'd consumed 1,400 bottles--and more than three times the lethal dose of radiation.
He recommended Radithor to his friends and even gave it to his horse.

Why he might not be annoying:

He became the US Amateur Golf Champion in 1906.
Radithor was in fact invented by William J. Bailey, a Harvard dropout with no medical background.
He suffered brain abscesses and his bones deteriorated due to radiation poisoning.
    Eventually, his jaw was removed.
His death drew attention to the lethal effects of radiation.
His coffin is lined with lead.
