    She participated in beauty pageants.
    It took some time for investigators to determine whether her death was accidental or a suicide.
    It was later concluded that she was upset over relationship troubles with her boyfriend and committed suicide.
    She killed herself by misusing her gas stove and ultimately dying from gas inhalation.
    Fans blamed her boyfriend for her death.

    Her father died when she was seven.
    She was a popular Hong Kong television star in the 80's.
    Her funeral was a massive event attended by many fans and prominent Chinese entertainers.
    She was born into an affluent civil service family.
    She attended Cambridge University.
    After her cremation, her ashes were interred in Cambridge, England.
