Why he might be annoying:

While he tried out for pro football, he was rejected by the Washington Redskins and CFL's Calgary Stampeders.
He was part of the Raiders' front office for just only one year (1988).
He was fired from his front office duties and his head coaching job by the Seattle Seahawks (1994).
He often threw interceptions in his professional playing career.
He never won a home game against his former team, the Raiders under his tenure as the Seahawks' head coach.

He attended the University of the Pacific.
He is AFL's fifth all-time leading passer.
He was the first Hispanic American quarterback to play in the professional level.
He was also the first Hispanic American NFL head coach in pro football history.
Like Mike Ditka, he won three Super Bowl rings as a player and a coach.
He became another one of the Raiders' successful head coaches after John Madden retired from coaching.
He was the first Super Bowl winning minority head coach.
